Hey everyone - We hope you all had a very safe and satisfying holiday season. We hope everyone is well rested and ready to jump right back into the social events SOTC are known for - namely the best parties in the Bay Area!

The time has now come for us to do some house cleaning once again. As we have explained since October of last year we have switched over to the Membership based group with new features. We have given all of the old yahoo group members plenty of time to make it to an SOTC event in order to get a free upgrade of their membership.

***Please note: If you have been to AND paid for an SOTC meet or party, you can disregard the request for Membership dues. If you have paid for your membership already, you are also exempt from this at this time as well. This message is intended for all of those who have never made it to a paid SOTC event, and who are now required to pay their membership dues in order to continue to be on the guest list for parties.***

There are a few options available if you wish to continue to hear about SOTC events:

The FREE option that is now available is our newsletter, which you must sign up for yourselves on the site at: http://www.sotcparty.com/subscribe/ Just put in your email address and a monthly SOTC newsletter with our events and future plans will be sent to you at no cost. No invites will be sent for parties or events, in order to receive those you must have a paid membership. All paid memberships will automatically be sent this newsletter as well.

To purchase your SOTC Membership go to: http://www.sotcparty.com/apply/ and complete the online questionnaire. Everyone will be required to resubmit their questionnaires and pics in order to ensure we have the latest and the most accurate information. Once approved you will be sent an email directing to where you can pay for the $49.99 one year membership, or the $99.99 lifetime membership. You will then be given a membership number and placed on the invite list. Single men will still be required to meet us first, before getting on the invite list - that will not change.

SOTC Plans Expansion Into South Bay
Driven by numerous requests, and the success of its party format, SOTC plans to start hosting parties in the South Bay area in 2007. To assist with this, SOTC is also looking to hire or partner with a local host couple to run parties out of their home or at a high-end hotel. Interested couples should contact us as soon as possible.

By adding more events to the schedule SOTC will be able to deliver even better value and services to its membership base.

Dear Jodie,
My wife and I are very new to this and have never been to a party before. We have discussed our boundaries and are comfortable proceeding to the next step-attending a party. We basically have established the major ground rule - that if you want to play with either one of us, you get both of us. Our question is this: Will this make things strained or difficult, or will we still fit in ok and be able to find people interested in us? What is expected of us as a couple?

Dear Newbies,
It is great that you both are communicating about your desires, fears, comfort levels etc, as that is key to success in this lifestyle. Of course, whatever your comfort levels are they will be respected at events organized by reputable organizations. At parties every couple plays either together, separately, or some combination of the two. Just be clear in communicating your comfort level and boundaries to anyone you are interested in playing with and they should be respected. Most couples new in the lifestyle tend to explore together at first, and then branch out more with time if that is something they are both comfortable with.

Toy of the Month
You have probably seen them in the toy shops or online, yes those fancy colorful glass dildos. We spotted one in an adult toy shop for over $75 and thought it looked great, but at that price was it really worth it? Then one day, out of the blue, a friend surprised me by giving me one as a gift. I couldn't wait to try it out!

Mine is made of clear glass with green spirals going up the inside of the 8 inch length. It also has a good-sized head on it. At room temperature the dildo felt a little cool, but upon insertion it felt really good. After a few moments it warmed up and maintained the warmth the entire time I used it. Being seamless and smooth, there is no uncomfortable friction and it makes for a very stimulating experience indeed!

Not only are glass dildos fun to use, but because they are non-porous wash up is a breeze. You can wipe it with a damp cloth and mild soap or cleanser. Or you just place it in the top rack of your dishwasher. Glass dildos are also very durable, not fragile as you may first expect. Mine has been thrown down on hard floors and it still doesn't have a single scratch or chip. This toy definitely hits the spot. It is now my favorite toy! Everyone I know who has tried one, just loved it, and now use them regularly - so I am not alone.

Glass dildos come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors. They are suitable for both vaginal and anal play. They range in price from about $70 to hundreds of dollars depending on the style and brand.

Get Tested and Play Safe
Just a quick reminder to everyone — To have fun and be safe in the lifestyle it is recommended that everyone be tested for HIV and other STDs at least once a year. With the new year here, it is a good time to think about when you were last tested. If it has been between 6 months to a year since your last round of full testing, we strongly suggest you make an appointment. Don't put it off, it only takes a little bit of time, and helps keep you and your play partners safe and healthy.

If you don't want to go to your family practitioner to get tested, there are several confidential, free or inexpensive clinics in the SF Bay area. One example is Planned Parenthood. They have a number of local clinics, and they provide free testing and birth control.
